Chasing Zero HAI Cost Calculator
The HAI Cost Calculator is a predictive, population-based model of the frequency, cost and length of stay associated with six major infection categories: SSI, CLABSI, VAP, UTI, MRSA and CDI.
Using this tool, hospital leaders can compare actual HAI performance against expected values given hospital size, location, teaching status, admissions and other characteristics.
The HAI Cost Calculator tool is based on detailed regression analysis of National HAI statistics from the AHRQ HCUP database completed by TMIT, an not-for-profit medical research organization. This tool provides more targeted estimates of HAI frequency, cost and LOS for a given hospital.
